This was one of my first freelance lighting projects, it began with a friend of mine approaching me about this project. Leelin Bowser had been working with The Afro American Music Institute for a while, when they needed a last minute Lighting Designer for an upcoming show, he contacted me and we got to work. We rented some lighting fixtures and I called in some favors for a few more; altogether I had an LED followspot, 4 par uplights, and a smaller lighting tree with some pars, this was coupled with my own QLC+ and ENTTEC OpenDMX software/device combo.

From there me and our Stage Manager Michele Betts worked together creating a cue list for each song in the show. I have since worked with Michele many times and see her often on theatre productions in the Pittsburgh area. The tech week and one night show went extremely well given the timeline, the crew did really well. On top of that, working with Broadway Star Rema Webb was lovely, I had never worked with such a professional before, it was great expirience.
